Associate Professor Vincent Chow

Associate Professor Vincent T.K. Chow (MD, PhD, FRCPath) is a medical virologist and molecular biologist, and has been a faculty member of the National University of Singapore (NUS) since 1984. Currently, he serves as Associate Professor, Education Director of Microbiology and Principal Investigator of the Host And Pathogen Interactivity Laboratory at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. Since 1996, he established the Human Genome Laboratory at NUS that has characterized several novel human genes and proteins of medical significance. Dr Chow previously served as President of the Asia-Pacific Society for Medical Virology, as well as Virology Section Chair and Fellow of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. His laboratory has published over 300 articles in international refereed journals, and contributed over ten book chapters. He has received several awards (including Murex Virologist Award, NUS Special Commendation Award, Faculty Research Excellence Award, Singapore Society of Pathology – Becton Dickinson Award, APSMV Excellence Award). His research interests have focused on the cellular, molecular, and viral pathogenesis of influenza-related pneumonia, respiratory and enterovirus infections.
