Dr. Mok Chee Keng

Dr. Mok Chee Keng is a seasoned virologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and studying viral infections, as well as managing Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratories. Previously, as Head of BSL-3 Science and Services at the National University of Singapore, Dr. Mok played a key role in supporting antiviral research during the COVID-19 pandemic by establishing essential research platforms. Currently, he serves as the Head of the BSL-3 Platform at A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs, where he oversees operations and safety while expanding research capabilities, including the development of animal models and virus identification techniques. Beyond his technical duties, Dr. Mok is actively involved in biosafety and outbreak preparedness through his participation in professional societies such as the Singapore Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology, the Biorisk Association Singapore, and the Asia-Pacific Society for Medical Virology. His work fosters scientific collaboration and knowledge sharing within Singapore and the broader ASEAN region.
