Dr. Youichi Suzuki is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Infection Control at Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. degree in medicine from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and completed his postdoctoral training at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, National Institutes of Health, USA from 2001-2005. From 2006, he worked in the Institute for Virus Research, Kyoto University as a Specially Appointed Associate Professor, and in 2010, he joined the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore as a Senior Research Fellow. His main research interest is to understand the molecular interaction between viruses and host cells.
